Union Shafts is the first choice supplier

for drive shaft and coupling solutions for

industry and test bed.

WHY UNION SHAFTS?

Based on a unique concept “Union Shafts”-drive shafts and couplings combine robustness with cost effective design and are available at different stiffness configurations which are clearly recognizable by the colour.

CV-shafts are used to provide a large amount of longitudinal, angular and axial displacement without adding any higher order speed or torque fluctuations to the drive shaft.

“Union Shafts” products are the right choice if you need standard solutions in proven quality without any support, are “ready to use” in your test bed, easy to mount and at a favourable price:

  • exceptionally robust
  • reliable
  • resistant to high operating temperatures
  • cost effective
  • available within 2 to 4 weeks from order

About us

Josef Hoefler, grandfather of tectos’CEO and founder Dr. Dieter Hoefler, started to work as a blacksmith in the area of Lower Austria 100 years ago. His profound mechanical knowledge, the passion for his profession and his understanding of his customer’s needs made the establishment of his own blacksmith shop possible.

The passion for mechanics and customer orientation has been inherited from generation to generation and is now a fundamental part of Union Shafts products.

Union Shafts products follow the same “hands on” approach as in the former days of Josef Hoefler and stand for durability, simplicity, cost efficiency and short lead times.

Union Shafts Coupling – USC

The „Union Shafts“ Couplings are based on a unique concept with a robust and cost effective design. The USC is available at different stiffness configurations, which are clearly recognizable by the colour.

Benefits:

  • suitable for high dynamic laods
  • high damping and long lifetime
  • low maintenance service
  • low danger of misuse
  • outstanding vibration decoupling
  • precise concentricity

For ordering the coupling:

Please replace the XXX in „USC – XXX“ by the required stiffness c_tdyn.

For example: c_tdyn = 200 Nm/ rad leads to „USC-200“.

USC-200

Torque: up to 160 Nm
Speed: up to 8.000 rpm

USC-315

Torque: up to 295 Nm
Speed: up to 8.000 rpm

USC-500

Torque: up to 460 Nm
Speed: up to 8.000 rpm

Union Shafts Shafts – USS

The „Union Shafts“ Shaft with CV-joints provides a large amount of longitudinal, angular and axial displacement.
The shaft is available at all lengths between 240mm and 900mm and can be used with every „Union Shafts“ Coupling and „Union Shafts“ Adapter.

Benefits:

  • no default installation direction
  • low weight
  • longitudinal, angular and axial compensation
  • outstanding vibration decoupling

For ordering the shaft:

Please replace the XXX in „USS – XXX“ by the required length l1.
For example: Installation length l1 (without „Union Shafts“ Adapter) = 560mm leads to „USS – 560“.

Union Shafts Flanges- USF

The „Union Shafts“ Flange is suitable for the most torquemeter anges. The preferred installation direction is to mount the damper to the engine.

For ordering the flange:

Please replace the XXX in „USF – XXX“ by the required flange dimension d_6.

For example: d_6 = 57 h6 leads to „USF-D10“.

How To Measure Your Driveshaft Length

Before ordering a driveshaft you need to measure the required length.
The length of the shaft is marked in the drawing as l1 in mm.

For example:

If you measure from glange to flange you have 550mm.
Your required shaft length l1 would be 478mm (550mm – 72mm Coupling = 478mm)
